After the first installation, you need to make some steps to work with the application.
Setup global content translation
LangShop can translate all store's content automatically after the first install. You can exclude some types of content for global translation or turn it off at all.
Note: Global content translation also available later and called as bulk translations.
Following content is available for global translation:
- Theme localization
- Theme statics
- Navigation menu
- Products and variants
Note: there is no theme settings in this list. We do not add theme settings into global translation because they may contain font colors, font families, links to content, etc. Translating these settings can negatively affect your theme. Thus you need to do it by yourself in the "Themes settings" section.
Also, you can set up the next parameters:
- Words-exceptions - here you are able to enter words or phrases, that shouldn't be translated. It can be a brand name, for example. Just write them separating with a comma.
- Translation driver - choose the most appropriate translation driver: Yandex Free, Google Free, Google Professional.
Note: Yandex: Free and Google: Professional drivers require API key for global content translation. Read more about Translation drivers.
You need to choose default content language that should match your real current content language.
Then you need to choose additional languages, that will take part in content managing and displaying on your store.
LangShop provides more than 100 languages and you can choose any of them in any number. But there are some factors you may need to consider. Learn more about them in this article.
Note: Setup languages also available later.
Setup LangShop themes
To make your store's content multilingual, you need to create a localized theme version. LangShop doesn't make any changes in your themes, but it will create a new theme based on any theme from your store. This process is called "Themes translation".
Note: You can use Themes translation later.
Choose a theme from the list to start translating. In most cases, you need to choose the theme, marked as "Current" near theme's name.
Global content translation will start automatically after the theme translation process is finished. The created theme will be not published and you can work with it in preview mode or publish it immediately.
